\nMarine Corps veteran, endurance athlete, adventurer and author Akshay Nanavati has a picture of a friend he lost in war on his wall and under it he wrote, “This should have been you. Earn this life."
This was the fuel to write his book, "Fearvana: The Revolutionary Science of How to Turn Fear into Health, Wealth and Happiness" in order to help others navigate their own suffering and turn it into nirvana, turn it into bliss.
\n\nIt is also fuel for his own extreme adventuring.
\n\nIn November, Nanavati will begin a 110-day, 1,700-mile solo trek across Antarctica, wher he'll ski for 10 to 12 hours a day hauling a 400-pound sled full of supplies and become the single most isolated being on the planet. He shares how he has been preparing for the grueling physical and mental challenges he will face along the way.

As a U.S. Army Apache helicopter pilot, Adam Marr deployed to Iraq where he flew more than 400 combat hours and was awarded the combat action badge. In 2017, Marr co-authored the best-selling book, "Tales from the Blast Factory” where he shared the challenges his brother, a Green Beret, faced transitioning out of the Army because of his TBI and PTSD injuries sustained in combat. This book was the inspiration for the Academy Award-qualified documentary film Quiet Explosions: Healing the Brain (2020).

Working a corporate job in Indianapolis on Sept. 11, 2001, Purdue graduate Josh Bleill was so moved by the events of that day that he soon found himself, at the age of 27, following in his father's yellow bootsteps at Marine Corps bootcamp.
\n\nDuring a deployment to Fallujah, Iraq in 2006, a bomb exploded under the vehicle Josh was riding in. He woke up five days later to the realization that he had lost two friends and both of his legs in the blast.
\n\nJosh's journey through recovery led him to a new role as a motivational speaker, trying to help veterans and civilians alike move forward with positivity by taking just one step at a time.

\n\nOn the morning of the attack, Linda and two of her children, a son who was a fellow EMT and a daughter, who was a paramedic, rushed to the WTC site to see how they could help. That morning, Linda served as a liaison between chiefs in the field and dispatchers. On Sept. 14 she began working in the morgue and continued doing so until May of 2002.

Jeff and Ashley talk with John Ring and others fresh off the trail of the Buddy Watch Walk, a Pier-to-Pier trek across the southern U.S. to raise awareness of veteran issues such as mental health, PTSD, homelessness, unemployment, MST, TBI, addiction, and suicide.
\n\nThey walkers are joined by representatives from The Alabama American Legion, who supported John during his stop in Montgomery, as well as drummed up additional assistance from Legion members across the South who helped support John for the remainder of his journey.
\n\nJohn began his journey solo at the pier in Tybee Island, Ga. As he walked he was joined by Jimmy Mathews in Pearl, Miss. Jimmy intended to accompany John across his home state of Mississippi, but ended up staying by his side for the remainder of the journey. Jason Hanner joined the duo in Texas, and Eli Hawkins stepped up to complete the crew in Tucson, Ariz.
\n\nThe team finished the final leg of their walk from Hollywood Post 43 to the Santa Monica Pier on June 14, 2020, accompanied by a parade of American Legion Riders and other American Legion Family members by their side.
