Bruce Roberson

Air Force veteran Bruce Roberson served as an NCO with Air Force Security Services as a military working dog handler. During his 4-year enlistment, his Southeast Asia deployments during the Vietnam War included operations in Laos and Cambodia, which later became known as “Nixon’s Secret War.”

Other duty stations included assignment to NORAD, securing nuclear weaponry with Strategic Air Command, assisting the 56th Special Operations Commandos in Northern Thailand on the Mekong River, and security recovery operations of downed battle aircraft in combat zones in remote areas in Southeast Asia.

After his military service, Bruce earned degrees in Business and Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina System. He went on to a successful career in the provider sector of healthcare principally in the acute care setting as Budget and Cost Director at Durham General Hospital (now part of the Duke University Health System) as well as the Chief Information Officer at Cape Fear Valley Regional Medical Center.

Bruce has worked in executive positions with the major suppliers of information technology to the healthcare industry including Allscripts, McDonnell Douglas Corporation (McAuto), American Express Health Information Division, IBAX Healthcare (a joint venture of IBM and Baxter), McKesson’s Health systems group, NDC Health,HMS / Medhost and ProxyMed where he was the fourth employee and helped take the company public on the Nasdaq exchange. He was also the first Director of Business Development for First Consulting Group (FCG).

He currently serves in an Executive sales position at athenahealth and General Healthcare Digital, where he has worked for over 10 years. He is the producer of the Expressoul Health & Wellness Podcast with his wife, Claudia. The couple has also recently launched a sustainably sourced, health-focused coffee company, Expressoul Coffee.
