Chris Marvin is the principal for Marvin Strategies, a strategic communications firm specializing in veteran-centered advocacy through socially minded narrative building. Clients have included the National Parks Conservation Association, HBO, HISTORY Channel, the USO, the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Vet the Vote, the Vets Voice Foundation, Everytown, the Presidio Trust, and the Bipartisan Policy Center, amongst others.
Beginning in 2020, Chris established the Park-to-Park Tour project to help share National Parks with his children as a way to demonstrate the purpose and legacy of his own military service. Chris believes strongly that patriotism is exhibited through the enjoyment and protection of National Parks and public lands. The Park-to-Park Tour has taken Chris and his family to more than half of the nation’s National Parks and developed his expertise on the relationship veterans can have with “America’s best idea.”
Chris is a fourth-generation Army combat veteran, whose familial military service began when his 6th great-grandfather served a private in the New York Militia in 1776. Chris served from 2001 to 2009 as a U.S. Army officer and Black Hawk helicopter pilot and is a combat-wounded veteran of the war in Afghanistan.
Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Marvin Strategies is certified by the Small Business Association as a service-disabled veteran owned small business.
