Jimmy Mathews is a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant who was deployed to Bosnia, three times to Kuwait and did three combat tours in Iraq. During his service, he recieved a Bronze Star with Valor.
When Mathews heard of John Ring's Pier-to-Pier Buddy Watch Walk, the mission resonated with him due to some of his personal stuggles as a veteran. He joined Ring on his journey in Mississippi, and continues to help raise awareness for veterans issues.
During his journey, Mathews joined American Legion Post 345 in Austin, Texas.
