Lisa Bass

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Lisa Bass served over 20 years, beginning her career as a 30-year-old private in the JAG Corps. She attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Engineer.

As a grandmother, Lisa attended Airborne School and became the first female Commander in the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team. She served two one-year tours in Iraq as an engineer. Her last duty in the Army was as Chief of Troop Construction for Fort Hood, Texas.

Lisa is married to her biggest supporter, has six children and 15 grandchildren.

Lisa holds an associate degree in drafting and a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Central Texas, and a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She also holds Master Certificates for Commercial and Government Contracting from Villanova University. She is a graduate of the Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp for Veteran’s with Disabilities (EBV) from Texas A&M, and a graduate of the Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (VWISE) from Syracuse University.

Lisa was selected and completed the ‘Count Me In’ program for business development and won Citi Bank’s ‘Best Social Venture’ business competition for her ‘In Her Boots’ program. A resident of Dallas since her retirement from the Army in 2012. Lisa has served as the Executive Director for Chamber Development of the Dallas-Fort Worth, United States Veteran Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of Directors of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce. 

Lisa is the owner of Combat Boots Jewelry, LLC and holds three trademarks for her designs. She is also the Founder and Co-owner of TF SASA, ‘In Her Boots’ Program aimed at Sexual Assault prevention and recovery strategies in the military.
