Lisa Shoemaker

Lisa Shoemaker, LCSW is the Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator for the Department of Veteran Affairs with the Bay Pines VA Healthcare system since 2007 and has been the lead MST Point of Contact for the VISN since 2009. She has also been the LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator for the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System since 2016. She has worked at Bay Pines VAHCS since 2005, providing evidenced based therapies to Veterans who have experienced Military Sexual Trauma in both residential and outpatient settings.

As MST Coordinator, she assists veterans in accessing VHA Care for conditions related to MST who may otherwise not be eligible to enroll in VHA care but are eligible for some services under Special Treatment Authority Care. It is her mission to reach as many former service members as possible and assist with getting them the care they deserve. She is a considered a subject matter expert regarding military sexual trauma and is able to provide consultation to staff and former service members alike as well as engage in outreach opportunities.
