Stacy served in the Air Force as a combat photojournalist, where she earned numerous medals and commendations during her deployments. She is one of only three women to win National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) Military Photographer of the Year competition and is the first woman to earn it twice.
Today, Stacy continues to work worldwide as an independent photographer, author, educator and founder of the Veterans Portrait Project.
She talks with us about her history as well as her current project, the PBS series "After Action," which reveals the experiences of veterans before, during and after their service.
