Julia Waring is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a Civil Engineer Supervisor for the United States Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Meade, Md. She was commissioned as an Army Engineer Officer through the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. in 2008 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. She also received a Master of Science Administration in Contracting and Acquisitions in May 2012 from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, Fla. Her active-duty assignments included: Baghdad, Iraq; Fort, Rucker, Ala; and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. She ended her career in 2013 as the Army Lead Engineer Planner, Deputy Chief of Staff of Engineers, United States Pacific Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii
Julia began competing in competitive bodybuilding in 2014, and she received her status as an International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Figure Professional Athlete in 2017. She won her second pro show and qualified for the 2018 Olympia. Since then, she has competed in the 2020 and 2021 Olympia and is currently ranked 11th in the world.
Julia has a Personal Trainer Certification and a Certification as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. She coaches lifestyle clients, mentors’ amateur bodybuilding competitors, provides posing instruction and serves as a motivational speaker for various fitness events and seminars.
Outside of work Julia is a licensed minister in the Church of God, holding the title as Exhorter. She has also served as a children’s pastor, women’s ministry leader, and she occasionally preaches.
Although Julia does not yet have any kids of her own, she takes pride in being a super auntie, godmother and NaNa. Her favorite volunteer ventures have been Big Brother Big Sister, tutoring from pre-k to college students, and coaching high school athletes.
